Executives and upper management take no interest in people. USS used to be a close knit family culture, where everyone looked out for each other. They don't care about your personal circumstances. Noxious gases, molten metal, bursting pipes, serious injuries, fatalities, cancerous chemicals and dilapidated structures. However, it is a crash course in manufacturing and exposure to heavy industrial systems unlike anywhere else. Free coffee.Lots to learn fromConditions"
Mechanical Repair Technician (Former Employee) says"Management rules by intimidation. We where always under staffed. You where never given enough supplies or tools to work with and wasted countless amount of time stealing things from each department because area management would get bonuses for not spending money. It is a very dirty work place with dangerous work at times. They talk safety until they need sometime done fast. I was exposed to asbestos for three day as my supervisor lied to me saying it wasn't asbestos. I asked why weren't any signs up warning us of the danger and my area manager told me you guys never read those things anyway. We would have to change shifts at least two times a week sometimes three different shifts in one week. You would be lucky to get one weekend off a month. No matter what it wasn't done fast enough. Company is going down hill. Only bright spot is future connections but wit quality system the way it is, it wont be long before customer issues arise. Mirel B says"Lost money with this seller. - I returned the desk on my own expense after I received it really smashed; - They said significant extra damage was brought to the desk (not true) and just refunded me 70£ out of 260£ (how much I paid for the desk + transportation) They were really rude as well. In my communication with them I've been told things like: “you should be ashamed of yourself”; “DO NOT CONTACT US OR OUR BUSINESS EVER AGAIN” "get on with your sad little life” "You obviously dont have a full filing life" I was NEVER rude to them and I NEVER threatened them. I did tell them once that I will post bad reviews if they don’t solve the issue (which is one of my rights) and that I will contact my bank to return the money (which is again one of my rights). In the end, I’ve spent 260£ on the desk + postage and some "bonus" insults that no customer should take."
